Today a new study by agripol has been presented as the first HFFA Research paper of the HFFA Research GmbH. This research paper is considered the initial outcome of a multi-annual project aiming at continuously measuring the virtual agricultural land trade as well as the agricultural self-sufficiency of the EU. It is based on a revisited methodology and most recent trade and other data, thus setting an improved standard of calculating the virtual land trade and various self-sufficiency indicators. Presently, the EU is net importing a still remarkable amount of virtual agricultural land of close to 20 million ha.
